Well, I'm a writer/scientist and sometime Irish politician -- regrettable, but true. What can you do?
As to hobbies ... I'm not sure I have one, though I love books & films & music & nature & good conversation.
My family is mainly Irish. We were driven out of Ireland centuries ago for drinking too much, singing off-key and reciting bawdy limericks -- though they've probably forgotten about all that by now. (He wrote confidently.)
Great, thanks -- just heard back from one of our premier venture capital companies. Woo-hoo!
It's been a very intensive time for me, these last 18 months or so -- my research went white hot in re: "spectral theory,"* so much so that I decided it would be foolish not to pursue the 'D' portion of this R&D effort.
How are things with you?
Best wishes,
Brian
* I've known the stuff that begins with "In Göttingen in 1925-26 Werner Heisenberg and Erwin Schrödinger" for 30 years or so, but the quips on the right by Steen & Connes ... had the force of revelation for me. Hard to explain, but ... everything began to come together for me in ways I could not have hoped for. Spent the next year chasing down the math & physics. Finally had to come up for air, with everyone asking where I've been.
